About Cerebrolysin

Cerebrolysin is not a peptide. It is a preparation — a defined mixture with no single sequence, no CAS number and no molecular formula, which is why this page carries none of those.

It is made by controlled enzymatic hydrolysis of lipid-free porcine brain protein, using pancreatic enzymes to cut the protein into fragments. What comes out is standardised by composition rather than by structure: roughly 215 mg of solids per millilitre, of which about 15% is peptide nitrogen and 85% free amino acids, with the peptide fraction below 10 kDa. The process removes lipids and intact proteins.

That makes it a different kind of object from everything else in this catalogue. A vial of BPC-157 contains one sequence you can write down. A vial of this contains a population of fragments, reproducible batch to batch by specification rather than by synthesis.

Two practical consequences. It ships as a solution in sealed ampoules, not as a lyophilised powder, so there is nothing to reconstitute and the reconstitution calculator does not apply. And because the identity is a specification rather than a sequence, mass spectrometry cannot confirm it the way it confirms a single peptide — the analytical question is composition, not identity.
